Plaza Towers Memorial

On May 20, 2013 an EF5 tornado tore through the community of Moore, Oklahoma; taking with it homes, businesses and the lives of twenty four people, including seven children from Plaza Towers Elementary School.

One year later, an appropriate and timeless memorial is being constructed in conjunction with the rebuild of Plaza Towers Elementary School and DMG Masonry is proud to be apart of it. The memorial will honor the seven children who died and pay tribute to the heroic actions of teachers, administrators, and family members, emergency responders and volunteers from the Moore community.

The memorial includes seven solid granite benches with the names of each child and special objects carved into the benches which symbolize the individuality of each child. The plaza is paved with thick granite slabs that are inscribed with inspirational messages. There is also seven silhouettes of children, three boys and four girls engraved onto granite plaques on the vertical walls forming the entrance to the school.
